One authored value on a controller lane, positioned in canonical ticks.
The value is the full 32-bit channel-voice data width, which is what a 7-bit or 14-bit MIDI 1.0 controller value scales into, so a lane never needs to record which resolution it was authored at.

Whether flattening derived this point at a retained-window boundary rather than reading it where the user placed it.
An authored document never sets this: it is written only when a nested clip is trimmed and the value sounding on entry came from a point before the retained window. The point keeps the identity of the entry it read, so the derivation stays traceable and reproducible, and a consumer re-editing the arrangement can tell the two apart.
