Detailed Description

Softplus fit of Q43's collector current against Vcomm (DAFx-14 Eq.

8).

The paper obtains these by fitting SPICE-tabulated (Vcomm, iC) pairs, not by closed-form device physics: the knee v0 lands ~one diode drop below ground, which is where Q43's base starts to lift. The fit describes the p-n junction in Q43 (a 2N3904), not D52.
